Fermented Red Rice: Monacolin K is obtained from the fermentation of red rice with a yeast, Monascus purpureus; substance that helps maintain normal cholesterol levels. It is an ancient technique that was already used in China and Japan.
Gamma oryzanol: Its name derives from the rice plant (Oryza sativa), from which it is extracted. It is mainly obtained from rice bran oil, but is also present in corn, barley, wholemeal flours and olives.
Coenzyme Q10 (or Ubiquinone): It is the main nutrient of mitochondria, intracellular organelles used for energy production, present in all cells. Like mitochondria, it is also present in all cells; hence the name Ubiquinone. It can be both synthesized by the human body and ingested through food.
Policosanols: They are natural substances extracted mainly from sugar cane, but also from wheat and/or rice bran and apple peel.
