HEALTH FROM NATURE: HISTORY AND TRADITION

Salus Italia is the Italian headquarters of Salus-Haus, the leading company in the German herbal market. Founded in 1916 by Dr. Otto Greither, it has remained family-owned to this day.

Salus-Haus was born in Bavaria, where the factories where more than 250 collaborators work are still located today.

More than a hundred years of history of Salus-Haus speaks of continuous success, a success that starts from afar and has deep roots.

Salus products are sold in more than 50 countries around the world.

ENVIRONMENTAL CULTURE

Most of the energy needed to operate production is obtained from a small hydroelectric power plant built within the company and from other renewable energy sources.

In 1997 Salus was the first herbal company in the world to obtain EMAS certification for environmental protection.

In recognition of these efforts , in 2003 the WWF awarded Salus owner Dr. Otto Greither as “eco-manager” of the year.

TECHNOLOGY

Salus guarantees the best technology available. The entire production chain must comply with high quality standards.

The “Good Manufacturing Practices” process ensures that production meets the technical requirements of pharmaceutical companies.

SALUS OASIS IN CHILE

The decision to move herb cultivation to South America was made in 1986, due to the Chernobyl disaster. At that time, it was not possible to find uncontaminated aromatic plants throughout Europe.

Salus then looked for a country far from industry and traffic, fertile and ecologically intact: he found what he was looking for in Chile, at the 38th degree of latitude, therefore very far to the south, approximately on the same line as Melbourne in Australia.

Today, 600 hectares of herbs are grown in an absolutely organic way in the Salus oases in Chile, which provide the majority of the plants used in Salus products and guarantee total control of the product, from the seed planted in the field to the finished and bottled product.
