Yarrow oil is a traditional remedy that is prepared by leaving the flowering tops of yarrow covered in sunflower oil to macerate. Nonna Nettle's oleolite is prepared with 33% yarrow calculated on the weight of the fresh plant.
Yarrow oleolite is used for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties on the skin. A recent human study carried out in collaboration between various university and educational centers in Belgrade demonstrated the ability of yarrow oleolite to reduce erythema induced by an irritant substance ( sodium lauryl sulphate), highlighting its anti-inflammatory properties. It also improved the hydration and pH parameters of irritated skin.
The estimation of the traditionally used yarrow (Achillea millefolium L. Asteraceae) oil extracts with anti-inflammatory potential in topical application
