Chamomile originates from Greek and means "fruit, ground apple". It is a plant well known even today for its diffusion in Europe and for its widespread use among the population.
Chamomile flower heads contain flavonoids, essential oil, coumarins, sesquiterpene lactones and other compounds in smaller quantities. Chamomile has spasmolytic and anti-inflammatory properties and is widely used for disorders of the gastro-intestinal tract such as dyspepsia and inflammation in general.
The sedative action with which it is popularly used is mild.
External use as an anti-inflammatory in case of dermatitis is very interesting. (But be careful in case of allergy sufferers due to the presence of sesquiterpene lactones!)
For larger quantities (1 kg or more), contact by telephone before ordering. Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light
