Yarrow (or yarrow) is a plant known for its virtues since ancient times. History and legend come together in the myth of Achilles who, to treat the wounds caused in battle, used this plant with its vulnerary function.
Essential oil, phenolic glycosides, flavonoids, triterpenes and tannins are found in yarrow. Yarrow essential oil is useful for the presence of chamazulene, a molecule with antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties. Topical use, in dilution, can help restore situations of skin inflammation.
The plant is well suited to use in the form of herbal tea aimed especially at the digestive system. Yarrow is able to reduce stomach inflammation and promote digestive processes as it is a bitter-tonic plant. Traditionally it was used to promote menstruation and in general disorders of the menstrual cycle (inflammation, pain)
